School is Almost Out for Summer

As the school year winds down on the calendar and in the art studio we are cleaning up and reflecting on the fun learning and growth over the academic year 2016/17.  Students are surprised to see work emerging from the back of the studio shelves- seeing their growth over the year as people and artists is always exciting.  As the art facilitator I am often frustrated at the amount of unfinished work, but the student artists are not- they have a million ideas to make and do!

We had many cooperative projects throughout the year, and they are always successful celebrations at Muddy Brook.  Our Kelsey Montague Wings, Lion King Puppets, and grade specific projects are the art activities which become fond childhood memories later in life.  I already have some plans in the works for next year's collaborations which will reach out past our school.

Third and Fourth Grade classes worked as a team to create their giant puppets for the Lion King performances!
